The Memorial Day weekend is almost upon us and we all want to make memories with friends and family as we remember sacrifices of those who have given their lives for our freedom. We have a long history of military service going all the way back to world war one. This image includes the group of soldiers which includes our Grandfather as he served in World War I. It was his same style of “Family Values” that inspired grove heating and cooling business morals and values. From our Grove heating and cooling Family to yours, we hope you enjoy the Memorial Day Weekend with loved ones.
You probably already know that Memorial day began shortly after the American Civil war. However it has a uncertain beginning, as the North and South each had days which honored those who died. As the nation healed so did the unity of the memorials. May 30th In 1868 “decoration day” included the tradition of decorating graves of fallen soldier with flowers and flags. This continues even to this day with many military organizations and civilian groups such as the boy scouts placing flags on graves in military cemeteries.
Families gather this weekend and often this includes large family reunions, many will include fine food and create memories. Many take the time to visit the resting places of family members with flowers and flags. Interestingly enough and not often known - 3:00 pm on Memorial Day is marked as the local time of remembrance across the nation.
