Air Conditioning Installation in Maryland

Maryland’s Trusted AC Installation Company

There are a lot of options out there when trying to determine the type of air conditioning equipment your home needs. An air conditioning installation done incorrectly (with the wrong kind of unit or poor service) will present many problems. If an air conditioning system is too large or too small for a home, or if the ductwork system is poorly designed, it can result in higher utility bills and may need to be replaced.

Grove Heating and Cooling will be there to advise you and with great work, that’s guaranteed, for your Maryland AC installation. We offer air conditioning installations in Maryland for both residential and commercial properties with our Lifetime Workmanship Guarantee! Our customers know we stand behind our manufacturer’s warranties. When our certified HVAC technicians handle your air conditioning installation, you can rest assured you are in good hands.

How Do I Know if My AC Unit is Going Out?

More often than not, your AC system will send you signs of a problem before a breakdown. Catching these symptoms in advance can save you the hassle and expense of dealing with a full air conditioner breakdown during peak summer months.

Here are just a few signs to watch out for with your system:

1. It’s Blowing Hot Air

If you feel hot air coming through your vents, you might have a broken compressor. It could also be a sign of a refrigerant leak. You will need to address these problems before being able to use your system correctly.

2. Unusual Sounds

Your air conditioner should run reasonably quiet. While you will notice a sound from the motor, you should not hear grinding, squealing, grating, or other loud noises.

3. Moisture Around Your System

If you notice moisture or a leak around your system, then you have a problem. Sometimes moisture can indicate a refrigerant leak or be a sign that an aging system is becoming stressed and overworked.

4. Bad Smells

A pungent smell may indicate the wire insulation in the system is burnt. Musty odors can be an indicator of mold, which can put your family’s health at risk.

5. Humidity Levels Feel High

When you start to notice water pooling around windows or a sticky feeling to the air inside your home, it’s a good indication that your air conditioner isn’t working correctly.

At Grove, we provide our customers with free quotes on a new AC system and free second opinions so you can be sure you’re receiving the highest quality of customer service at the best price!

How to Choose the Right Air Conditioner

Buying a new air conditioner can be intimidating, but don’t let the fear of being ripped-off ruin your experience. Purchasing a new AC unit doesn’t have to be a hassle, and we don’t make it one for our customers.

We take into account your budget and your needs when making our recommendations. It’s important to us that you feel comfortable with the decision, both financially and functionally.

The best air conditioner for your Maryland home depends on your living situation, the size of your home, and the features that are most important to you for comfort and convenience. When it comes to choosing the right air conditioner for your home, we will use an industry-standard Manual J calculation to determine the proper capacity of HVAC system needed, and walk you through the following things to consider:

To properly size your air conditioner, our HVAC technician will have to access most parts of your home, including your attic, crawl spaces, basements, and also visit every room (including the inside of the attic or basement). The size of your air conditioner will depend on multiple factors, including your location, insulation, and square footage, to name a few. We then check with Energy Star to see how many BTUs (British Thermal Units) of cooling capacity you’ll need to be comfortable.

SEER Value

For your guidance, federal regulations require a minimum SEER value of 14 on all newly installed air conditioners, which will be significantly more efficient than the unit you have today (which is likely an old 7 or 10 SEER model). We recommend 14 or 16 SEER units, as we have found them to be more hardy, more reliable, and less costly to the consumer.

This summer I replaced my unit and was very pleased from start to finish with everyone at Grove. I was given a couple of options with honest opinions from the sales rep. I had gotten a previous quote from another reputable company and Grove’s prices along with the promotions were a lot better. On the day of install 3 guys came out and did a wonderful job.

Had a new HVAC system installed in 2018, with yearly maintenance this spring. Price was competitive, and the install went well. All workers and staff that I dealt with were knowledgeable, courteous and efficient. I am very satisfied with the new heat and air units.
